ExeOutput for PHP 2024.0 Finally Released With New Features and Enhancements

We are thrilled to announce the release of ExeOutput for PHP version 2024.0, packed with a host of new features and updates to enhance your development experience.

What’s New in Version 2024.0

  • PHP Support: Added support for PHP 8.1, PHP 8.2, and PHP 8.3. Download additional PHP versions using the Web Update utility.
    • Note: PHP 8.2 and 8.3 require Windows 10 or higher. Applications using these versions will not run on Windows 7 or lower.
  • Windows 11 Compatibility: Official support for Windows 11 has been added.
  • Chromium Update: Updated to Chromium version 109 (CEF 109.1.1889.0.15), the last version compatible with Windows 7.
  • Enhanced File Copy Logic: ExeOutput for PHP now verifies if the source file is newer than the destination before copying.
  • New Rendering Properties:
    • DisableImgDragDrop to disable image drag/drop within the application.
    • DevToolsPort to change the Developer Tools port for the Chromium engine.
  • Global Security Options: Disable printing features across the entire application (HTML, PDF, etc.).
  • Loading Bar: New loading bar to indicate when a page is still loading.
  • Caching Support: Added support for caching static content in applications.
  • Bug Fixes and Improvements:
    • Resolved issues with PowerShell invocation.
    • Updated code signing with the latest cryptographic standards, including SHA384 and SHA512 hash methods, and ECC-based certificates.
    • Fixed PHP exec() function logging errors and save file dialog issues.
  • Deprecations:
    • Removed VCRUN14 shipment. Windows 7 users must now provide the VC runtime installer (see documentation for details).
    • The Chromium General Demo has been rewritten with a new template engine, and Flourishlib has been dropped.
  • Miscellaneous:
    • New HTML compilation log format.
    • Full screen mode support (F11 to enter, ESC to exit).
    • Upgraded Adminer to AdminerEvo and MariaDB to version 11.3.
    • Updated documentation and samples.
  • Various minor improvements and bug fixes reported by users.

We are also testing a new rendering engine based on WebView2 for a future release, aimed at making EXE files smaller as CEF has become increasingly large.
